Corporate Social Responsibility
In today’s world, we are confronted with increasingly essential risks – global warming, cultural clashes and changing demographics, to name but a few.
Two Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives represent Skillnet’s contribution as a corporate citizen:
- RESET - education and action for a better world
- Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben - music works across borders
Skillnet is founding partner and supporter of the non profit organisation RESET
RESET's objective is to motivate private individuals and companies to make donations towards creating a sustainable world, especially through cutting down climate change and to channel resources properly into professionally managed projects. As part of this, additions made like RESET recommendations as well as evaluation options for organisations and projects already in existence.
To begin with, reset.to was launched in december 2007 in German, to be followed by Chinese and Indian versions.

In May 2008 RESET was distinguished as an official project of the UN- Decade "Education for Sustainable Development"
The main objective for 2008 and 2009 will come in the form of a three-stage strategy – 1. Information, 2. Allocation and 3. Action. The aim is to recruit resetters, co-operation partners (e.g. for content, reach, tools) and of course donors (giving money, time and physical resources). For this purpose, RESET’s first step will be to aggregate alraedy existing content, projects and in addition contributions from active resetters in www.reset.to and to make recommendations for a purposeful use of resources (‘Allocation’). After that selected RESET projects will be initiated and implemented in the areas in which there is still a need and in which RESET and resetters have particular expertise.
This means that every resetter will be helping. Either ‘only’ with his or her contributions or also with donations (money, time, physical resources).

Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben - Universal contributions through music
Music is deeply embedded in our daily lives. Music adds joy to celebrations and cures wounded hearts. Music consoles our minds and furnishes us with energy.
Music cultures can be found worldwide, each unique to its own country and region. Music has come to be known as the universal language, bringing people together from all over the world.
Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben (DSM) was thus established in 1962 to enhance music culture both domestically and internationally.
